Account Deletion

At Luvart, we believe in digital sovereignty — your absolute right to leave the platform and have your data removed at any time, no questions asked.

This guide explains how to permanently delete your account and what happens to your data when you do.

How to Delete Your Account

Open Settings

Navigate to your Profile page in the Luvart app. Tap the Settings icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

Go to Account Management

In the Settings menu, tap "Account". This will take you to your account management page where you can view and manage your primary account details.

Request Deletion

Scroll to the bottom of the Account page. Tap the "Delete account" button.

Confirm

A confirmation prompt will appear. Once you confirm, your account is immediately deactivated, your profile and content are hidden from the community, and the 30-day grace period begins.


What Happens to Your Data

Immediate Effects

As soon as you confirm deletion, your profile becomes invisible to other users, your posts and Cultural Stories are hidden, your Cultural Circle memberships are ended, and other users can no longer search for or interact with your account.

30-Day Grace Period

Your data is retained in a secure, encrypted state for 30 days after your deletion request. This allows you to recover your account if you deleted it accidentally.

Permanent Deletion — After 30 Days

After the 30-day grace period, your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our active systems, including your profile information, posts, photos, videos, Cultural Circle memberships, and analytics data. This action cannot be undone.

This retained data does not include your profile, your content, or any information that identifies you to other users.

Your Cultural Contributions

If you opted in to contribute content to Luvart's cultural preservation features or to Setso, your withdrawal of consent is processed as part of account deletion. Contributed content will be removed from the cultural corpus within 30 days of permanent deletion.

Private Messages

Standard users: Your sent messages may remain visible to recipients on their devices after your account is deleted. They will no longer be associated with your name or profile.

Premium users (E2EE Messaging): Because E2EE messages are encrypted on your device and decrypted only on your recipient's device, Luvart does not hold readable copies of your messages. Luvart cannot delete messages from recipients' devices.


Frequently Asked Questions

Can I temporarily deactivate my account instead of deleting it?

Temporary deactivation is not currently available. If you need a break from Luvart, you can adjust your notification settings and privacy controls without deleting your account.

What happens to my Premium subscription when I delete my account?

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your Premium subscription if it was purchased through an app store. You must cancel your subscription separately through your app store before deleting your account to avoid further charges. Luvart does not issue refunds for unused subscription time resulting from account deletion, except where required by applicable consumer protection law.

Will my username be available to others after I delete my account?

Deleted usernames may become available to new users after a reasonable period following permanent deletion. We cannot guarantee that your username will be held indefinitely.

I deleted my account but I am still being charged for Premium.

If you are being charged after deleting your account, the subscription was likely purchased through your app store and must be cancelled there. Contact us at khomotjo.ngobeni@luchsia.com with the subject line BILLING ISSUE — [your username] and we will assist you.
